Notice:
This is an opportunity for members to post information such as scrimmages and games needed, tournaments, job openings, and other announcements. Simply email the information you would like posted to Dave Archer, Executive Director at DArcher@stny.rr.com. It will be posted on the web site within one week of receipt and will remain posted for one month unless you send another email telling us to take it off.  If you want it posted for more than one month, simply send another email.
 

As a service to its members, BCANY will post informational items on the BCANY website. BCANY will consider posting information from non-members, but certainly can decline to post it. BCANY may charge for the posting items. Preference for BCANY members and sponsors.


  


Only advertisements that are reputable and directly related to the game of basketball, the coaching of basketball, basketball products or the sport of basketball and or advertisements that are reputable and relate to athletics and/or coaching in general will be accepted.


 


BCANY: Will not post on web site: (1.)If the activity you want posted on the BCANY web site conflicts with  a similar activity that BCANY operates. (e.g. clinics, Showcase Events, etc.) (2.) If the activity you want posted is for a business or for profit organization. (3.) Anything that can be offensive will not be posted.


Current Postings:


     The 5th annual BCANY Western New York BOYS Showcase Event is scheduled for Sunday, September 27th at the Koessler Center at Canisius College.

     Registration will begin at 9:15am and play will continue until 1:00pm. All players must pre-register.

     The Showcase is limited to the 1st 60 players on a first come first served basis and the event has sold out each of the previous 4 years.

     Last year over 25 college coaches were in attendance to observe to top players in Western and Central New York.

     The cost is $70.

Hoosick Falls (Section 2) is looking for a boys and/or girls team (JV and Varsity) to fill openings in our Hoosier Holiday Tournament on December 28th and 29th. If interested call Mike Lilac, Jr. at 686-7321 x1712.



9th Annual Onondaga Community College Fall Shootout – Saturday & Sunday, October 31 & November 1, at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY.  Varsity level teams and players.  $395 per team.  Each  team plays a minimum of five games.  Pool play on Saturday.   Tournament format on Sunday.  Stop clock 16 minute half games officiated by certified officials.  For more information call (315) 498-2510 or email pasiakd@sunyocc.edu.




St. Mary’s High School (Section 6 – Buffalo area) boys JV & Varsity basketball is looking for a tournament or 2 home or away non-league games to fulfill its schedule for the 2009/2010 season.  Anyone interested, please contact Dan Gill, Athletic Director @ (716)683-4824 x35 or dgill@smhlancers.org


 

Oneonta HS (Section 4)  is looking for a 4th team in both their boys and girls Tip Off Bbasketball Tournament in November.  The boys play on November 24 and 27. The  girls play on November 25 and 28. The tournament is for both JV and Varsity teams.

Seton Catholic Central (Boys, Section 4) is looking for two games or a pre-season tournament to participate in for the 2009-2010 basketball season. Please contact basketball coach and Athletic Director Chris Sinicki at

Union Endicott (Section 4) Boys Basketball is looking for 1 JV and 1 Varsity Team to fill the field for the 4th Annual James M. The Hoopfest is a “Coaches vs. Cancer” event that benefits the local hospital in Plattsburgh, NY (CVPH). The tournament is in its 6th year and has become the premier girls event in New York State. They have had 8 of 11 sections participate over the last two years alone. The quality of the games, played in the historic Olympic Center at Lake Placid, has drawn college coaches from NY, Vermont, and NH. The games are on December 26 and 27, 2009 this year. They are looking to fill four girls teams for this years event, teams have the opportunity to play one or two games.
